Stop taking Orilissa and call your doctor at once if you have one of these serious side effects:
• Anxiety, depression, irritability, mood swings
• Liver disorder (yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite)
Less serious side effects include hot flashes, night sweats, headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation, difficulty sleeping, decreased sex drive, stuffy nose, sore throat, sinus infection, common cold, menstrual bleeding changes such as irregular bleeding or spotting, increase or decrease in bleeding, or no bleeding at all and abnormal blood test results.

Take Orilissa at about the same time each day, even if symptom-free. You may take Orilissa with or without food. You should start taking Orilissa on the day you start your period to ensure you are not pregnant. You must confirm that you are not pregnant before starting treatment with Orilissa. The dose prescribed by the doctor can be either 150 mg once a day or 150 mg twice a day depending on your symptoms. Do not use the medication if you are allergic to Elagolix or any other ingredients in the medication, are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, have severe liver disease, have osteoporosis, have unexplained bleeding form vagina, are taking cyclosporine, used to prevent organ rejection. Orilissa may interact with medications such as digoxin, rifampin, midazolam, rosuvastatin, ormonal birth control that contains estrogen, such as “the pill”. Before taking Orilissa, inform your doctor if you have a history of bone mineral loss. Orilissa may result in small loss of minerals from bones. The bone mineral loss can be increased during treatment with Orilissa if you use alcohol excessively, smoke, have a history of osteoporosis, take steroids, have liver problems, have a history of mental health problems such as depression or suicidal thoughts.
