Description
Indications: Xylazine should be used in horses and Cervidae (Fallow Deer, Mule Deer, Sika Deer, White-Tailed Deer and Elk) when it is desirable to produce a state of sedation accompanied by a shorter period of analgesia.
Dosage and Administration: Consult your veterinarian.
- Side Effects: Used at recommended dosage may cause levels of occasional slight muscle tremor, bradycardia with partial AV block, and a reduced respiratory rate. In horses, sweating, rarely profuse, has been reported. In Cervidae, salivation, various vocalization, audible grinding of molar teeth, protruding tongue and elevated temperatures have been noted in some cases.
Storage: Protect from heat. Do not freeze. Store at 20-25° C (68-77° F)
Cautions:
- Do not enter the vial with a needle more than 20 times. Do not use product beyond 30 days after initial entry. Any product remaining after 20 entries or more than 30 days after initial entry should be discarded.
- This drug should not be administered to food-producing animals
- Causes serious eye damage, Toxic if swallowed
- Wash skin thoroughly after handling.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product.
- Wear protective gloves, eye protection, and face protection. If consumed call POISON CENTER, Doctor/Physician
- Dispose of contents to approved waste disposal plant
